【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoverstherequirementsforacoatingofcadmiummechanicallydepositedonmetalproducts.Thecoatingisprovidedinvariousthicknessesuptoandincluding12x03BC;m.1.2Mechanicaldepositiongreatlyreducestheriskofhydrogenembrittlementandissuitableforcoatingboresandrecessesinmanypartsthatcannotbeconvenientlyelectroplated(seeAppendixX3).1.3Cadmiumcoatingsareusuallyappliedtoprovideengineeringpropertiesandcorrosionresistance.Theperformanceofacadmiumcoatingdependslargelyonitsthicknessandthekindofenvironmenttowhichitisexposed.Withoutproofofsatisfactorycorrelation,acceleratedtestssuchasthesaltspray(fog)testcannotbereliedupontopredictperformanceinotherenvironments,norwilltheseserveascomparativemeasuresofthecorrosionresistanceaffordedbycoatingsofdifferentmetals.Thus,althoughthereisamarkedsuperiorityofcadmiumcoatingsoverzinccoatingsofequalthicknessinthesaltspraytest,thisisoftennotthecaseunderconditionsofuse,sothatfurthertestingintheserviceenvironmentshouldbeconducted.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificprecautionarystatements,see1.5and1.6.1.5Warning8212;Cadmiumistoxicandmustnotbeusedinacoatingforarticlesthatcancomeintocontactwithfoodorbeverages,orfordentalorotherequipmentthatcanbeinsertedintothemouth.Consultappropriateagenciesforregulationsinthisconnection.1.6Warning8212;Becauseofthetoxicityofcadmiumvaporsandcadmiumoxidefumes,cadmium-coatedarticlesmustnotbeusedattemperaturesof320x00B0;Candabove.Theymustnotbewelded,spot-welded,soldered,orotherwisestronglyheatedwithoutadequateventilationthatwillefficientlyremovealltoxicfumes.
