【摘要】:Thispracticeisusedtoassessthenatureandextentofbandingororientationofmicrostructuresofmetalsandothermaterialswheredeformationandprocessingproduceabandedororientedcondition.Bandedororientedmicrostructurescanariseinsinglephase,twophaseormultiphasemetalsandmaterials.Theappearanceoftheorientationorbandingisinfluencedbyprocessingfactorssuchasthesolidificationrate,theextentofsegregation,thedegreeofhotorcoldworking,thenatureofthedeformationprocessused,theheattreatments,andsoforth.Microstructuralbandingororientationinfluencetheuniformityofmechanicalpropertiesdeterminedinvarioustestdirectionswithrespecttothedeformationdirection.Thestereologicalmethodscanbeappliedtomeasurethenatureandextentofmicrostructuralbandingororientationforanymetalormaterial.Themicroindentationhardnesstestprocedureshouldonlybeusedtodeterminethedifferenceinhardnessinbandedheat-treatedmetals,chieflysteels.Isolatedsegregationmayalsobepresentinanotherwisereasonablyhomogeneousmicrostructure.Stereologicalmethodsarenotsuitableformeasuringindividualfeatures,insteadusestandardmeasurementprocedurestodefinethefeaturesize.Themicroindentationhardnessmethodmaybeusedforsuchstructures.Resultsfromthesetestmethodsmaybeusedtoqualifymaterialforshipmentinaccordancewithguidelinesagreeduponbetweenpurchaserandmanufacturer,forcomparisonofdifferentmanufacturingprocessesorprocessvariations,ortoprovidedataforstructure-property-behaviorstudies.1.1Thispracticedescribesaproceduretoqualitativelydescribethenatureofbandedororientedmicrostructuresbasedonthemorphologicalappearanceofthemicrostructure.1.2Thispracticedescribesstereologicalproceduresforquantitativemeasurementofthedegreeofmicrostructuralbandingororientation.Note18212;Althoughstereologicalmeasurementmethodsareusedtoassessthedegreeofbandingoralignment,themeasurementsareonlymadeonplanesparalleltothedeformationdirection(thatis,alongitudinalplane)andthethree-dimensionalcharacteristicsofthebandingoralignmentarenotevaluated.1.3Thispracticedescribesamicroindentationhardnesstestprocedureforassessingthemagnitudeofthehardnessdifferencespresentinbandedheat-treatedsteels.Forfullymartensiticcarbonandalloysteels(0.10-0.65%C),intheas-quenchedcondition,thecarboncontentofthematrixandsegregatemaybeestimatedfromthemicroindentationhardnessvalues.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotcoverchemicalanalyticalmethodsforevaluatingbandedstructures.1.5Thispracticedealsonlywiththerecommendedtestmethodsandnothinginitshouldbeconstruedasdefiningorestablishinglimitsofacceptability.1.6ThemeasuredvaluesarestatedinSIunits,whichareregardedasstandard.Equivalentinch-poundvalues,whenlisted,areinparenthesesandmaybeapproximate.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
