【摘要】:ZeolitesYandX,particularlyforcatalystandadsorbentapplications,areamajorarticleofmanufactureandcommerce.Catalystsandadsorbentscomprisingthesezeolitesinvariousformsplusbinderandothercomponentshavelikewisebecomeimportant.Y-basedcatalystsareusedforfluidcatalyticcracking(FCC)andhydrocrackingofpetroleum,whileX-basedadsorbentsareusedfordesiccation,sulfurcompoundremoval,andairseparation.ThisX-rayprocedureisdesignedtomonitortheseYandXzeolitesandcatalystsandadsorbents,providinganumbermoreorlesscloselyrelatedtopercentzeoliteinthesample.Thisnumberhasprovenusefulintechnology,research,andspecifications.DrasticchangesinintensityofindividualpeaksintheXRDpatternsofYandXcanresultfromchangesofdistributionofelectrondensitywithintheunitcellofthezeolite.Theelectrondensitydistributionisdependentupontheextentoffillingofporesinthezeolitewithguestmolecules,andonthenatureoftheguestmolecules.InthisXRDmethod,theguestmoleculeH2Ocompletelyfillsthepores.IntensitychangesmayalsoresultifsomeorallofthecationsinYandXareexchangedbyothercations.Becauseofthefactorsmentionedin4.3thatcouldvarytheintensitiesoftheXRDpeaks,thisXRDmethodwillprovidethebestdeterminationofrelativecrystallinitywhenthereferenceandsamplehaveasimilarhistoryofpreparationandcomposition.CorrectionsarepossiblethatcanmakethisXRDmethodaccurateformeasuringpercentzeoliteinmanyspecificsituations.ThesecorrectionsarewellknowntothoseskilledinX-raydiffraction.Itisnotpracticaltospecifythosecorrectionshere.1.1ThistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofrelativeX-raydiffractionintensitiesofzeoliteshavingthefaujasitecrystalstructure,includingsyntheticYandXzeolites,theirmodificationssuchasthevariouscationexchangeforms,andthedealuminized,decationated,andultrastableformsofY.Thesezeoliteshavecubicsymmetrywithaunitcellparameterusuallywithinthelimitsof24.2and25.0x02DA;?/span>(2.42and2.50nm).1.2Thesamplesincludezeolitepreparationsinthevariousforms,andcatalystsandadsorbentscontainingthesezeolites.1.3Thetermx201C;intensityofanX-raypowderdiffraction(XRD)peakx201D;isthex201C;integralintensity,x201D;eithertheareaofcountsunderthepeakortheproductofthepeakheightandthepeakwidth.1.4ThistestmethodprovidesanumberthatistheratioofintensityofportionsoftheXRDpatternofthesampletointensityofthecorrespondingportionofthepatternofareferencezeolite,NaY.(LaboratoriesmayuseamodifiedYorX,forexample,REYasasecondarystandard.)Theintensityratio,expressedasapercentage,isthenlabeledx201C;%XRDintensity/NaY.x201D;1.5Undercertainconditionssucharatioisthepercentzeoliteinthesample.Theseconditionsinclude:1.5.1Thezeoliteinthesampleisthesameasthereferencezeolite.1.5.2Theab......
