【摘要】:ThispartofEN820describesmethodsfordeterminingtheelasticmoduli,specificallyYoung'smodulus,shearmodulusandPoisson'sratio,ofadvancedmonolithictechnicalceramicsattemperaturesaboveroomtemperature.Thestandardprescribesthreealternativemethodsfordeterminingsomeorallofthesethreeparameters:AthedeterminationofYoung'smodulusbystaticflexureofathinbeaminthree-orfour-pointbending.BthedeterminationofYoung'smodulusbyforcedlongitudinalresonance,orYoung'smodulus,shearmodulusandPoisson'sratiobyforcedflexuralandtorsionalresonance,ofathinbeam.CthedeterminationofYoung'smodulusfromthefundamentalnaturalfrequencyofastruckbar(impulseexcitationmethod).ThispartofEN820extendstheabove-definedroom-temperaturemethodsdescribedinEN843-2toelevatedtemperatures.Allthetestmethodsassumetheuseofhomogeneoustestpiecesoflinearelasticmaterials.Thetestassumesthatthetestpiecehasisotropicelasticproperties.Athighporositylevelsallofthemethodscanbecomeinappropriate.Themaximumgrainsize(seeEN623-3),excludingdeliberatelyaddedwhiskers,shouldbelessthan10%oftheminimumdimensionofthetestpiece.NOTE1MethodCinEN843-2basedonultrasonictimeofflightmeasurementhasnotbeenincorporatedintothispartofEN820Althoughthemethodisfeasibletoapply,itisspecialised,andoutsidethecapabilitiesofmostlaboratoriesTherearealsosevererestrictionsontestpiecegeometriesandmethodsofachievingpulsetransmission.ForthesereasonsthismethodhasnotbeenincludedinEN820-5.NOTE2Theuppertemperaturelimitforthistestdependsonthepropertiesofthetestpieces,andcanbelimitedbysofteningwithinthetimescaleofthetest.Inaddition,formethodAtherecanbelimitsdefinedbythechoiceoftestjigconstructionmaterials.NOTE3MethodsBandCmaynotbeappropriateformaterialswithsignificantlevelsofporosity(i.e.>15%)whichcausedampingandaninabilitytodetectresonancesornaturalfrequencies,respectively.NOTE4Thismethoddoesnotprovidefortheeffectsofthermalexpansion,i.e.themeasurementsarebasedonroomtemperaturedimensions.Dependingupontheusetowhichthedataareput.itcanbenecessarytomakeafurthercorrectionbymultiplyingeachdimensionalfactorintherelevantequationsbyafactor(1+α-ΔT)whereαisthemeanlinearexpansioncoefficientoverthetemperatureintervalΔTfromroomtemperature.
